Outbreaker Solutions' salt-based technology to help stop the spread of COVID-19

Outbreaker Solutions' antimicrobial compressed sodium chloride touch surfaces and their effect on SARS-Cov-2 have been highlighted in the 27th issue of the Health Technology Update of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health. The article discusses "Salt-Based Technologies to Help Stop the Spread of the Coronavirus". 

 

The article discusses how the natural antimicrobial properties of salt help to reduce the growth of bacteria. Salt kills microbes by damaging their DNA and destroying the cellular structure through many different processes, including dehydration and recrystallization. The same technology, which has been proven for influenza virus and bacteria, is behind its effect on SARS-CoV-2.

The article mentions antimicrobial touch surfaces that can help to prevent the spread of the coronavirus are beneficial in health care and public spaces.
